SECOND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

EL AVISO DE LA SEGUNDA AUDIENCIA PÚBLICA ESTÁ DISPONIBLE EN ESPAÑOL EN SITIO WEB DEL PUEBLO DE INDIANTOWN (https://www.indiantownfl.gov/)

The Village of Indiantown plans to apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) of $342,390.00. For each activity that is proposed, at least 70% of the funds must benefit low-and-moderate income persons.  The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low-and-moderate income persons for which the Village of Indiantown is applying are:

Service Area #1 Village Wide Service Area:

The activities to be carried out in Project Area #1 are as follows:

Planning – In this activity, the Village of Indiantown is proposing to utilize CDBG-CV assistance to develop a Pedestrian & Sidewalk Master Plan, that addresses complete street designs to meet the new demand from our residents: creating safe spaces for residents to walk, run, bike, and get around while maintaining social distancing.

Traditional sidewalks are between three and five feet in width, which doesn’t allow for the recommended six feet of distance that the Center for Disease Control recommends. The project will create guidelines for making ongoing improvements to the infrastructure that connects predominately low to moderate income residential areas to public facilities that include but are not limited to public parks, the Village Hall, other government facilities as well as private businesses. The Pedestrian & Sidewalk Master Plan will set standards for the construction of 8’ concrete sidewalks and 10-foot-wide multipurpose paths, both with ADA accessibility, will create socially distanced pedestrian walkways within the Village and will facilitate necessary social distancing while creating safe spaces for residents.

The proposed project budget is as follows:

Activity Name CDBG Budget LMI% Benefit
Planning (Includes project delivery costs) $315,000 At Least 51%
21A - Administration $27,390 N/A
Total $342,390

The Village of Indiantown does not anticipate anyone will be displaced as a result of the proposed CDBG-CV funded activities.  If any persons are displaced as a result of these planned activities, the Village of Indiantown will assist as described in the Village’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at Village Hall.
